1. Who we are

Society is a mobile application operated by Turuncu Deneyim Organizasyon ve Teknoloji Limited Şirketi ("we", "us"), registered at Şişli Vergi Dairesi (Şişli Tax Office), İstanbul, Türkiye. Registered address: Merkez Mah. Abide-i Hürriyet Cad. Sibel Apt. No: 161, İç Kapı No: 3, Şişli/İstanbul. We are the data controller of any personal data you provide.

2. What data we collect

Account data

Name, email, phone number (optional), city, profile photo, short bio and the interests you select during onboarding.

Membership application

Answers to short open-ended questions about your background and interests, used solely to review your application.

Usage data

The events you RSVP to, posts you make in The Room, introductions you accept or pass in Spotlight, and basic device information (model, OS version, language).

Advertising measurement data

The app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK so we can tell which of our own advertising campaigns brought new members to Society. It shares a limited set of signals with Meta Platforms: device information (model, OS version, language, coarse region), an advertising identifier — on iOS the IDFA is shared only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt — and a small number of app events (install, app open, subscription start). Results are reported in aggregate through Apple's SKAdNetwork and Meta's Aggregated Event Measurement. Your profile, messages, RSVPs and Room activity are never sent to Meta.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring our own advertising; where an advertising identifier is used on iOS, it is your explicit consent given through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can decline that prompt and change your choice at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads). If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared and measurement continues only in the aggregated, non-identifying form described above. Nothing in the app is restricted either way. This data is transferred to Meta's servers outside Türkiye.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or store your card details.

3. How we use it

To run the app, accept RSVPs and host conversations in The Room.
To review and approve membership applications.
To prevent abuse, enforce community guidelines and protect members.
To send transactional notifications (event reminders, replies, application status).
To improve the product through aggregated, de-identified analytics.

We do not sell your data, do not show you targeted ads inside the app, and do not share it with brokers. The only advertising-related processing is the limited device and app-event data shared with Meta to measure our own campaigns, described in section 2.

Other approved members — your profile is visible only inside the app.
Service providers — hosting, email, error reporting and analytics, under strict data-processing agreements.
Meta Platforms — limited device and app-event data, and on iOS an advertising identifier only with your App Tracking Transparency consent, solely to measure our own advertising campaigns as described in section 2. This transfer goes to Meta's servers outside Türkiye.
Authorities — when legally required, e.g. by court order.

5. Your rights

Under GDPR and KVKK you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to certain uses. Email privacy@societyapp.org and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

This website uses only essential cookies for session and security, and runs no third-party advertising or tracking pixels. The mobile application does not use cookies, but it does embed the Meta SDK, which collects the limited advertising-measurement signals described in section 2 — on iOS these are linked to an advertising identifier only if you consent through the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
